The Academy of Music and Sound started life in 1994 above a music shop in Torquay, Devon, offering private, instrument lessons and Music Technology courses. Sixteen years later, the Academy is now a national network of music schools, covering seven locations, including one on Glasgow's Jamaica Street.
They offer aspiring musicians the chance to study, practise and perform near to home, specialising in teaching guitar, bass, drums and vocals. The Academy enjoys in great facilities, and musicians can further their training with a variety of formal BTEC and degree courses, the majority of which are fully-funded. Their team of teachers are all leading local, national and internationally recognised musicians in their own right.
All of the Academy's management and administration teams around the country are music industry specialists, with backgrounds in record labels and tour management; promotions; media, music law; and of course, performing.
