Babbity Bowster's is housed in an old tobacco merchant's townhouse; all that remains of a street that was designed entirely by renowned architect, Robert Adam.
It is one of the Merchant City's most treasured Scottish pubs, and its location means that it is often hid from passing view - it is none-the-less always busy.
As well as a restaurant and bedrooms, Babbity also hosts regular music events. Every Saturday, local musicians gather to play informal sessions of Scottish and Irish music. Not resticted to folk music howver, the pub was also the scene of a newly-commissioned opera performed as part of the Merchant City Festival by singers from Scottish Opera.
