The University of Glasgow Music Department is part of the School of Culture and Creative Arts and is Scotland’s leading centre for musical research, with 65% of our work recognised as world leading or internationally excellent. We cover a broad range of areas, with particular specialisms in Historical and Cultural Musicology (Modernity in Musical Cultures; Scottish Music & Musicians); Performance & Performance Studies; Composition; Sonic Arts & Music Technology; and Popular Music Studies.

Situated in a fine terraced house close to the centre of campus and at the heart of Glasgow's cosmopolitan West End, we are ideally located for easy access to the huge range of music taking place in this UNESCO City of Music.
