The Glasgow Lyric Choir was founded in 1959 as the Clydebank Lyric Choir, by Alex Graham. Alex was a member of the world famous Glasgow Orpheus Choir, and much of the initial repertoire was inspired by Alex's time with the Orpheus.
It became the Glasgow Lyric in the 1980s, and the repertoire became more varied, opening up to all styles, and time periods.
The current Musical Director is Steve Birch, and the choir performs two or three concerts per year, as well as Come and Sing days for the general public as well as choir members.
