The World Pipe Band Championships have been held in Glasgow for more than 60 years, attracting over 8,000 of the world's best pipers and drummers to each event. In 2010, almost 240 bands travelled to Glasgow Green from all over the globe to compete for the coveted title.
It is the most important event in the piping world, and one of the most spectacular parts of the event is the March Past, in which many of the 8,000 musicians from countries as diverse as Oman, Canada, Pakistan and New Zealand, march through the city.
