Glasgow Music Festival

The annual Glasgow Music Festival was first held in 1911, and its purpose is to promote and develop amateur performance in music and other performing arts. It gives people the opportunity to appear in public, to listen to and meet with other performers and to receive advice and encouragement from a team of professional adjudicators. Each year, there are over 7000 performers of all ages - adults and children - with a wide range of skill levels. Some will progress to flourishing international careers as professional performers. For others music, speech, drama and dance will provide lifelong recreation. Many of the events are held in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
