As you walk through the doors of the Glasgow University Union (GUU), you will be following in the footsteps of some very distinguished predecessors, such as Charles Kennedy, Liam Fox, John Smith, Donald Dewar and Menzies Campbell.
It is one of the two student unions for the University of Glasgow - the other being Queen Margaret Union. It was founded in 1885, and it sparked constitutional chaos in 1952 when a group of nationalistic students brought back the Stone of Destiny from Westminster Abbey, threatening the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
It hosts many stalwart student events, as well as a weekly open mic night for budding musicians, and special events from some of the country's top performers.
