Posted: Wednesday 4 July 2012

This month on Glasgow Music City Radio we have lots of exciting new tracks to talk about. But before we begin with this month's music update we would like to take this opportunity to say a huge congratulations to Aiden Moffatt and Bill Wells. They won the prestigious  Scottish Album of the Year 2012 for their brilliant collaboration on "Everything's Getting Older" which is available on iTunes now.

popNow, onto this month's new music in Glasgow. We have received a host of new tracks from our friends down at Herb Recordings, an independant record label based in Glasgow specialising in innovative, contemporary music of varying styles. The first album "Pop Goes the People" is the new album from the alternative pop artist Myheadisaballoon. The album will be available on the 1st of August but in the meantime you can download the track "Honey" for free via the Myheadisaballoon website.

popThe next album "Weaving Spiders" is the latest release from experimental musician Craig Murphy under the alias Solipsism. The album is both dark and thought provoking which you can hear in their preview track "Eyrie" available on bandcamp. The album will be released on October 1st but you can hear it now along with Myheadisaballoon on Glasgow Music City Radio every Thursday morning from 7-8am.

king tutsWe also have a few tracks on our New Glasgow Music playlist from bands Minor Delilah, The NK Jays, John Wean and Olympic Swimmers.
