An evening of guitar and orchestra, with Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances Suite No 1 and Roman Festivals, and Martucci's Notturno Op 70 No 1. But the centrepiece is Rodrigo's much-loved guitar concerto. It's so well-known that many performers over the years assumed it was much older than it was and failed to pay the copyright, to the irritation of its composer, who lived on until 1999. The 'Concierto d'Orange Juice', as they call it in Yorkshire, is here performed by Milos Karadaglic. Gilbert Varga conducts.
